Big Diamond Speedway welcomes back the Super DIRTCar series in 2022  

After a thirteen-year absence, the traveling cars and stars of the Super DirtCar Series return to the Big Diamond Speedway to showcase their talents on Tuesday night July 12th, 2022.

Big Diamond Season Passes available October 10th  

Season passes for the 2022 racing season at Big Diamond Speedway will be available starting Sunday October 10th. Anyone wishing to renew their seats from last year can do so that day from 9-11 AM.  

Season passes can also be purchased that day, cost is $330 and includes one reserved seat.  

Any 2021 season pass holder wishing to purchase a 2022 season pass can do so for $300  

The 2022 Big Diamond season will get underway on Sunday April 3rd with an open practice. The 2022 season opener is set to take place the following Friday, April 8th.

Alex Yankowski dominates to win his first Coalcracker 72, Sammy Martz Jr wins Coalcracker Crate 30  

In only his third season racing a modified, teenager Alex Yankowski went out and dominated the Fritz Roehrig Memorial, Jack Rich Inc. Coalcracker 72 leading all but three laps against some of the toughest modified drivers in the northeast. In the companion Coalcracker Savage 61 Crate Sportsman 30 lap main event, it was invader Sammy Martz Jr leading all 30 laps to capture his first ever win at the speedway. Rick Laubach wins first of year at Big Diamond. Timmy Buckwalter, Doug Hendricks, Steve Lyle & Andrew Fayash III crowned champions  

It was a night fit for champions at Big Diamond Speedway as points champions were crowned in all four divisions. Timmy Buckwalter finished the season where he started after winning opening night to win the Insigner Performance Modified Points title overtaking Duane Howard on the last night to win the title. Doug Hendricks overcame hardship on the final night to win the U.S.S. Achey Open Sportsman title while Steve Lyle led from season start to finish to win the Savage 61 championship. Although he clinched the title two weeks ago, Andrew Fayash III was officially crowned champion in the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunner division.   Read More..

Rain forces Big Diamond Speedway to cancel Champions night. Schedule changes made to Coalcracker weekend  

I guess it was only a matter of time, for past eight to ten weeks Big Diamond Speedway has been dodging Mother Nature most every week and has managed to get the shows in. Tonight, that all came to an end. With race cars from all divisions flowing into the pits, the skies let loose in a big way forcing promoters Jake and Jasmine Smulley to throw in the towel and cancel the nights races.   Read More..

Insigner Performance Modified Title on the line this Friday night Aug. 27th on Championship Night at Big Diamond Speedway  

As the 2021 season winds down with only three shows left on the schedule. This Friday night August 27th will be Championship Night as all four weekly divisions will crown a champion.  

In the Insigner Performance Modified division the race for the title has come down to two drivers. Current points leader Duane Howard has seen his once large points lead shrink down to a mere nine points over a strong running Timmy Buckwalter. Buckwalter has been coming on like a freight train over the past month and Howard has struggled somewhat after his big win back on July 16th. Howard had a real fast car last Friday in the Prelude to the Coalcracker but with show up points being given out there was no gains or losses by either driver. The tension will be high on Friday night as Howard hopes to add to his list of Big Diamond titles with Timmy Buckwalter looking for his first ever modified title. The Modifieds will race 25-laps this Friday for a $3,500 payday.   Read More..

“Prelude to the Coalcracker” for the Modifeds this Friday night August 20th at Big Diamond. $10,000 paycheck awaits the winner of the 50-Lap feature.  

This Friday night, August 20th at the Big Diamond Speedway will be the annual “Prelude to the Coalcracker” race for the Insigner Performance Modifieds. This race will be 50 laps in distance and pay a whopping $10,000 to the winner making it the highest paying Prelude to the Coalcracker race in the track’s history.  It has been eight years since the mighty 410 Sprint cars have taken to the track at Big Diamond Speedway. Friday night the popular class made their return to the track with Cory Haas taking the big win. In the Savage 61 Crate 602 Sportsman division it was Kevin Brady turning his season around with the big win. 410 Sprint cars return to Big Diamond Speedway on Friday August 13th after eight-year absence  

This Friday night August 13th, the mighty winged 410 Sprint cars make their return to the Big Diamond Speedway. It will be the first appearance for the 410 Sprints since June 30, 2013, with Sam Hafertepe winning the feature event. The 410 sprint cars have made nine appearances at Big Diamond. The late Greg Hodnett had much success at the speedway with a total of five victories to his credit. Keith Kauffman, Lucas Wolfe, Brian Montieth and the aforementioned Sam Hafertepe have all graced victory lane at Big Diamond.  Read More..


Craig Von Dohren wins 100th career race at Big Diamond. Steve Davis & Doug Hendricks win Andrew Fayash Memorial Sportsman races.  

It might have taken a little longer than expected and it definitely did not come the way it was expected but when all was said, and it was Craig Von Dohren standing in victory lane and celebrating career win number 100 at Big Diamond Speedway. Steve Davis once again invaded the speedway and came away with the win the Savage 61 Crate division part of the Andrew Fayash Memorial race and Doug Hendricks continued his run to the 2021 title as he won the Open Sportsman portion of the Andrew Fayash Memorial. After weeks of battling uncertain weather, Mother Nature finally gave Big Diamond Speedway a great night for racing and provided us with sunny skies and no threat of rain. It was a big five division night of racing and Jeff Strunk was the winner of the Insigner Performance Modified feature for the second time in 2021. The PASS/MASS 305 sprints made their first start of the season with Kevin Nagy taking home the checkered flag. Tim Fitzpatrick won the U.S.S. Achey Open Sportsman main event for his second win of the year and Doug Smith was a first-time winner in the Savage 61 Crates. Duane Howard extends point lead at Big Diamond Speedway with his first win of the season on topless night sponsored by Spin City. Logan Watt, Ronny Suhr Jr & Andrew Yoder also winners.  

Duane Howard sits atop the Insigner Performance Modified standings due to a string of consistent finishes aboard the Butch Getz owned Big Creek Concrete No. 15G. In nine weeks of competition, Howard has only missed the finishing in the top ten one time with no DNF’s. The only thing the Howard / Getz team was missing so far in 2021 at Big Diamond Speedway was a victory. Howard put an end to that quest last night as he won the third annual “Topless” modified 25-lap feature. The Savage 61 Crate 602 Sportsman division saw yet another new winner as twelve-year-old Logan Watt won his first ever career sportsman main event. Big Diamond Speedway going “TOPLESS” on Spin City Night this Friday, July 16th  

This Friday night July 16th, Big Diamond Speedway will be going topless as the Insigner Performance Modifieds, the Savage 61 Crate Sportsman and the Limited Late Models will take to the track sans roofs and side panels. This will be the third time this event has been run in the past four years. Craig Von Dohren won the inaugural event back in 2018 with Ryan Godown winning in 2019. Last year’s race was not run due to COVID-19. This year the Crate Sportsman and the Limited Late Models will join in the fun as they too will both be going without roofs and side panels for the night. Doing this will give the fans a bird’s eye view of how the drivers manhandle their machines around the track showing them a different perspective for the night.   Read More..

It has been a long time since Brett Kressley stood in victory lane at the Big Diamond Speedway, August 17, 2017, to be exact. Friday night on B & H Landscaping night, Kressley was able to hold off a late challenge from Ryan Krachun to record his fifth career win at the speedway in the Georgie Stevenson Memorial race. Mired back in the 19th in the season long standings going into Friday night, Gular would need nothing short of a miracle to defend his title after a myriad of problems to start the season. Craig Von Dohren wins career feature win number 99 at Big Diamond Speedway on Savage 61 night. Travis Mease wins Late Models and Brandon Edgar wins Crate 602 feature.    

Craig Von Dohren returned to his winning ways Friday night at Big Diamond Speedway. Von Dohren aboard the Dave Dissinger owned No. 88X won a spirited battle with 2020 champion Mike Gular to take his first of the season at the Schuylkill County dirt oval. For Von Dohren it was his 99th career victory at the speedway. The Limited Late Models returned to the track for the first time this season with Travis Mease taking the win. In the Crate 602 feature, it was Brandon Edgar winning in dominating fashion. The Roadrunner feature was postponed after five laps were run due to rain and lightning; the balance of the feature will be completed at a later date.   Read More..

In addition to the above, Open Sportsman have been added to the Friday, July 30th card & ARDC has been removed.

Late Models return to Big Diamond Speedway on Friday June 18 along with Modifieds, Crate 602 Sportsman and Roadrunners on Savage 61 night.  

Chalk another win up last Friday night for Mother Nature who continues to be a thorn in the side of Big Diamond Speedway. Rain and weather have forced the speedway to cancel six of the eleven scheduled shows so far in 2021. After going winless in the Insigner Performance Modifieds in 2020, Billy Pauch Jr has made it known that he is back in 2021 as he powered his way to victory last night in the 25-lap modified main event for the second time this season. Michael Burrows was the dominant winner in the USS Achey Open Sportsman division with Steve Lyle winning the Savage 61 Crate 602 feature. Once again the weather put a damper on the action last Friday night at the Big Diamond Speedway, with steady rain all day the track was forced to cancel last Friday’s events.  

As a result of last Friday’s cancellation, the Insigner Performance Modifieds that were originally scheduled to be off this week have been added to this Friday’s racing card. Big Diamond Speedway boasts of the most talented fields of Modifieds on any given Friday night with Timmy Buckwalter, Billy Pauch Jr, Alex Yankowski and Jeff Strunk all victorious in 2021. Still searching for their first win of 2021 at Big Diamond are the likes of Craig Von Dohren, Duane Howard, Danny Bouc, Jared Umbenhauer, Ryan Krachun and Rick Laubach just to name a few. USAC East Coast Sprint cars makes their first trip to Big Diamond Speedway in 2021 along with the Modifieds, Open Sportsman and Roadrunners.  

The popular and growing USAC East Coast Wingless Sprint series will make their first of two visits to the Big Diamond Speedway this Friday night May 28th. This series has grown exponentially since it’s inception only a few years ago and put on a fantastic brand of racing. Leading the way in 2021 is former Big Diamond Modified driver Briggs Danner who has made quite a name for himself this season aboard the Gallagher No. 5G. Danner has won three races so far this season and is the current points leader over Alex Bright who has two wins to his credit so far this season. In fact, in the five races run so far in 2021, Danner and Bright have won every main event so far. Lurking in the shadows and never to be counted out is multi-time champion Steve Drevicki who stands third in the standings. Jeff Strunk wins first of year at Big Diamond, Mark Smith dominates URC Sprints, Danny Buccafusca and Don Murphy also victorious.

After a couple of tough weeks to open the season, Jeff Strunk aka the “Bechtelsville Bullet” is starting to find his stride at Big Diamond aboard the Dave Zubikowski owned Zubi’s Racing No 88Z. After a solid finish last week in the Money in the Mountains race, Strunk found the extra gear he needed last night to park the Zubi’s Racing car in victory lane in the Insigner Performance Modified feature. It was Strunk’s 55th win at Big Diamond. Mark Smith took the lead early to dominate the URC sprint car feature. Danny Buccafusca was the winner of the Savage 61 Crate 602 feature with Don Murphy winning the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunner feature. Read More..


United Racing Club Sprint Cars make their Big Diamond debut this Friday, May 21st, Modifieds, Crate Sportsman and Roadrunners complete the evening’s racing card.  

The mighty winged warriors of the United Racing Club presented by Capital Renegade will make their first of two visits to the Minersville, PA dirt oval. The URC club has been a staple at Big Diamond Speedway over the years with their hard charging brand of racing. After five completed races so far in 2021, Jason Schultz leads the way with two wins and is also the current points leader. Close behind Schultz are Andy Best and Dallas Schott. It was a busy night of racing on Friday at the Big Diamond Speedway presented by Tony’s Meat Market with five division in competition including the return of the ARDC Midgets. However, the big race of the night was the twice postponed Money in the Mountains race for the Insigner Performance Modifieds and at nights end it was “Kid Rocket” Alex Yankowski standing in victory lane after a dominating performance in the No. 84Y. Shawn Jackson was the winner of the ARDC Midget feature with Brandon Edgar (Open Sportsman), Eric Palmer (Crate Sportsman) and Alex Schoffstall (Roadrunner) the victorious drivers.   Read More..

ULMS Late Models to make their first ever appearance this Friday, May 7th at Big Diamond Speedway along with the Modifieds, Crate Sportsman and Roadrunners.  

For the first time ever at the Big Diamond Speedway, promoters Jake and Jasmine Smulley present the Zimmer’s Service Center, Inc. United Late Model Series this Friday night May 7th. Cold weather forces Big Diamond to postpone opening night to Friday, April 9th.  

Due to below normal temperatures and winds, Big Diamond Speedway was forced to postpone Friday’s scheduled opening night. Successful practice complete, Big Diamond ready to go for opener on Friday April, 2nd.  

Saturday’s scheduled practice at Big Diamond Speedway went off without a hitch with over 40 cars covering multiple divisions taking part in the two and half hour scheduled session. Promoters Jake and Jasmine Smulley had the track in tip-top condition as the 358 Modifieds who took part were turning fast laps around the four-tenths of a mile dirt oval.   Read More....

The most diverse season ever for the Big Diamond Speedway is set to get underway on Friday night April 2nd as promoters Jake and Jasmine Smulley swing open the gates for another great year of dirt track racing.
